What’s Your Story?

I watched the great actor, Chow Yun-fat in action last night.

Chow is one of my wife’s favorite actor.

He alone has almost broken my bank account buying boxes of tissues for her. Lol!

I hope my wife doesn’t read this note.

She will kill me like the way Chow killed the Japanese spy Kaoriko Yamaguchi in “上海灘- The Bund.”

Jokes aside, I’m not ashamed to make this confession.

As a die-hard romantic, I am a sucker for a good story. It does not matter whether the story is from a movie screen or real life.

I believe that life is but a series of stories.

If I do not accept the stories in my life and come to terms with them, I would have lost the very essence of life.

I cannot have peace if I do not know how to face my stories and share them with my closest friends.

I have also come to realize that if I cannot find meaning and purpose in my life stories, I cannot achieve breakthroughs.

I cannot live beyond the horizon of possibilities.

All of us have a natural instinct to tell stories. It is a powerful way to connect with ourselves and with the people around us.

The stories that we tell in the future is a reflection of the stories we have already created in our hearts.

We will never be the heroes in these stories if we do not start by being
heroes in the stories within our mind.

Leaders throughout the corridor of time have used stories to communicate life-changing ideas and use them to move hearts and minds.

Sharing stories is a powerful way to change the world around us.

If the stories in the leader’s mind is healthy, it will create healthy outcomes in his followers’ life.

On the other hand, if the stories in his mind is unhealthy, it will unleash a trail of negativity and even
destruction.

This morning, I was reading the pages on Facebook.

Every one of the person on it has a story.

If any one shares his story openly with me, I will be on my way to have a good friend.

I believe the stories you hold close to your heart will shape the ultimate story – your life.

If you are not happy with your current story, you can work with our Creator to live out the best of the remaining part of your story.

You can also choose to close this chapter and start a new one. You can also end this story and start a new story.

In the future, you will have to tell your story in one way or another to your loved ones and friends.

The moments of reckoning will also arrive when you will be reminded of your story. You will have to re-live the story in your mind.

In the evening of your life, there will be lots of time to reflect on your story. I hope they will give you good dreams.

When you move on from this world to a better world, you will leave behind your story. That matters more than anything else you will leave behind.

I pray that your story will be a good story.

A story worth telling – one that will inspire others to craft their stories.

So, what’s your story?

Go4It!

I hope this message will find a place in your heart.

By the way, I have also recorded other reflections.

They are also meant to motivate those who are struggling in life and help them find handlers to overcome their conflicts and challenges. It is my ardent hope that we will form networks and alliances of like-minded people who will put to right many of the wrongs in our midst. Together, we will leverage on each other's resources and create a synergistic impact in making our world a better home. These articles are written as part of regular reflection about the vicissitudes of life. They are at best work in progress and at worst, grumblings, grouses, and gripings of a finite old man. I have deliberately decided NOT to delete many of the articles and pointers that I may not agree with or are outrightly wrong. This is to keep a record of how my personal ideas, beliefs, and values have evolved over time. In addition, I hope to encourage readers by letting them know that I also make mistakes and am struggling with many of the complexity and complication in life. As long as we hang on to hope and work on finding a solution, there will be light at the end of whatever tunnel we are in. I do not pretend to know everything or for that matter, anything of substance. In fact, the more I study, learn, and think about the vast wisdom and knowledge out there, the more I realised how little I know about life and the ways of life. Hence, I have always ended my article by asking readers to continue to teach me. For I, too, am a sojourner in the exploration of truth and the adventure of finding meaning, purpose, and significance for my existence. I am proud of and make no apology for being a Christian, albeit not the most exemplary one. I believe our Creator can lead and guide us to be the best that we can ever be. I bear full responsibility for the shortcoming and error in my life, including my words. The fault is entirely mine and not due to anyone else. Readers have and can exercise the power of choice. They can discard what will not work for them and adopt those that can propel them further and faster in the pursuit of better performance, outcomes, and fulfillment. If I have disappointed or hurt you in any way, form, or manner, I would like to apologise to you. Please do not hold them against me or whoever or whatever is related to me. There are much to pray about, learn, and do. And I'll work on them with a sense of urgency. I hold on to the belief that 'Anything worth doing is worth doing with passion and excellence'. I'll endeavour to live by it. Life is short. There's no dress rehearsal and neither can we turn back the clock to change the drama of life. Therefore, by the grace and power of our Creator, let's live a full life and live it to the fullest. May God bless you abundantly on the journey of life.
