It’s Time To Close The Files.

All of us have a past that we can never change. We can decide to sink or soar as a result of it.

Unfortunately, many people are trapped in the past. They relive their hurts and carry emotional baggages from the past.

Unfortunately, if they are not at peace with the past, they will never be at peace with the present. If they cannot accept and appreciate the past, they cannot soar and succeed in the future.

Contempt of the past will eventually condemn the future.

Hence, as a regular ritual, I search the deep recesses of my mind. I want to recall and review the darkest experiences in my life, including the hurt, the pain, and the sorrow.

I want to resolve and come to terms with them. It does not make sense to let them weigh on my spirit and become a burden in my
life.

As we reflect on the year that is coming to an end, I like to ask you to do the same. There may be some broken dreams and unfinished tasks.

They are being laid bare on the journey of life and may become a part of our being. Many are left as a bondage on the fleshly tablet of our heart.

It’s time to revisit some of these uncompleted stories. Stories that were left hanging at the back of time.

We may need to craft or re-craft the final chapter and complete the ending.

We may need to close the files and when we do that, a boulder may roll off our chest, a burden released from our heart.

We may find ourselves lighter and our steps, quicker.

Eventually, we may take flight and soar to the stars of our destiny.

Think about it.

One of the best ways to be at peace with the past is to resolve old issue and build on the resulting lesson for the best future.

One of the best ways to remove past guilt is to put to right the wrongs that have been committed.

One of the best ways to remove resentment against your offender is to continue to forgive them.

One of the best ways to clear negative emotions is to learn how to cope with them and remove them with positive emotions.

One of the best ways to remove hatred is to replace them with love, compassion and kindness.

One of the best ways to start life anew is to clear your debt, obligation and restitution.

One of the best ways to transform your life is to remove the blockages that are holding you back.

One of the best ways to be connected to the people that are important in your life is to reach out to them and learn how to connect with them.

One of the best ways to stop carrying an unfinished busines is to complete it and leverage on it to accomplish a higher achievement.

One of the best ways to be at peace with your life is to contribute positively to others and the environment

When I reflect on the challenges of the past, I am mindful they were not random dots in my life.

They happened for a reason.

There are meaning and significance for every experience even though I might not realise it at that point in time.

When I understand how these unique experiences can be enjoined into an amazing purpose and blessing, the past can become a working tool for my future.

It becomes a launching pad to help me make full use of my life and to live life at its best.

We cannot change the past. However, we can choose to learn from and build on it.

We may not be able to forget a negative experience but we can forget the negative emotions associated with it.

The more we remove the pains from the past, the more we will increase the gains in the future.

When we choose to turn every negative experience into a positive experience, it becomes another awesome memory. The sooner we do it, the larger will be our treasure cove of beautiful memories.

We should not only accept our past, we should be contented with it. We should not only come to terms with it, we should also be grateful and thankful for it.

We need to fall in love with the unique blessing of our past so as to love the present and to create a brighter future. When that happens, there will be a greater sense of serenity and pride and joy in our life.

The past acts like a signpost to direct our path to the future. It can be a powerful resource to help us find true meaning and fulfillment and help us rise to our highest calling.

It does not have to be a pitfall, it can be a powerful platform to propel us to a brighter future.

How we make use of the past will influence our direction in life and its ultimate destination.

As we do so, we must also continue to capitalise on the ‘here and now’ so as to further expand on the treasure cove of our memory. It will inspire us to live on a higher plane in life.

In conclusion, I’m reminded that just everything around us may come to an end. Anytime.

Time may just run out on us.

Let’s pick up the phone and start closing the files. The files that have always been on our hearts and minds.

It’s time to close the files. Now.

Go4It!

They are also meant to motivate those who are struggling in life and help them find handlers to overcome their conflicts and challenges. It is my ardent hope that we will form networks and alliances of like-minded people who will put to right many of the wrongs in our midst. Together, we will leverage on each other's resources and create a synergistic impact in making our world a better home. These articles are written as part of regular reflection about the vicissitudes of life. They are at best work in progress and at worst, grumblings, grouses, and gripings of a finite old man. I have deliberately decided NOT to delete many of the articles and pointers that I may not agree with or are outrightly wrong. This is to keep a record of how my personal ideas, beliefs, and values have evolved over time. In addition, I hope to encourage readers by letting them know that I also make mistakes and am struggling with many of the complexity and complication in life. As long as we hang on to hope and work on finding a solution, there will be light at the end of whatever tunnel we are in. I do not pretend to know everything or for that matter, anything of substance. In fact, the more I study, learn, and think about the vast wisdom and knowledge out there, the more I realised how little I know about life and the ways of life. Hence, I have always ended my article by asking readers to continue to teach me. For I, too, am a sojourner in the exploration of truth and the adventure of finding meaning, purpose, and significance for my existence. I am proud of and make no apology for being a Christian, albeit not the most exemplary one. I believe our Creator can lead and guide us to be the best that we can ever be. I bear full responsibility for the shortcoming and error in my life, including my words. The fault is entirely mine and not due to anyone else. Readers have and can exercise the power of choice. They can discard what will not work for them and adopt those that can propel them further and faster in the pursuit of better performance, outcomes, and fulfillment. If I have disappointed or hurt you in any way, form, or manner, I would like to apologise to you. Please do not hold them against me or whoever or whatever is related to me. There are much to pray about, learn, and do. And I'll work on them with a sense of urgency. I hold on to the belief that 'Anything worth doing is worth doing with passion and excellence'. I'll endeavour to live by it. Life is short. There's no dress rehearsal and neither can we turn back the clock to change the drama of life. Therefore, by the grace and power of our Creator, let's live a full life and live it to the fullest. May God bless you abundantly on the journey of life.
